In the encounter with Cal Kestis, he fully disassembles his lightsaber and changes his Kyber crystal to red. The introduction to the villain, Dagan Gera, was super weird. There were a few moments that bogged down the narrative for me. Between the acting and the dialogue, I was more invested in Cal Kestis and his squad than I have ever been. Do I think it could have been darker? Yes, but I think everything can be a little darker. The third act is by far my favorite it took me places that I didn’t even know I wanted to go to until I got there. I had my doubts about the narrative in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, especially since I found Fallen Order a bit anticlimactic, but the story ended up hitting me like a bus. Needless to say, I missed a lot of content. There aren’t any useful mechanics in the way of finding loot apart from scouring your map and looking for unexplored paths. Usually, I love running around and collecting all of the loot, but I found it difficult in this game. The worlds are much bigger than they were in the first game, and so there are a lot of collectables around, but I felt a bit overwhelmed. I have a huge respect for developers that let players cheese their way through obstacles, but unfortunately, you can’t do that here. I can’t count how many times I was blocked by an invisible wall or outright killed from a fall that shouldn’t have caused more than a bruised ankle. However, despite how open the world may seem, it’s rather strict with how it wants you to navigate. There are so many new movement abilities now that I find myself discovering creative solutions to combat and puzzle encounters. ![]() I like being able to play my own way, but it would've been nice to have access to all of them at any given time.Īnother big improvement is the platforming. The only other stance I could argue for is the double-blade - it’s just too good at dealing with large groups. They were an easy match for my style, and the rest of the stances didn’t get touched after that. Crossguard is slow, but deals heavy damage and is capable of guard-breaking while the blaster stance gives you the benefit of speed and range.
